With over 2 million young people (¼ of the population), Pará does not have a dedicated youth secretariat: we only have a department within the Secretariat of Justice and Human Rights. In 2023, the budget for this department was 70,000 reais for the 144 municipalities of Pará, and in 2024 it dropped to 20,000 reais, which means less than 1 cent invested per young person in the state of Pará.

Furthermore, in an analysis and survey of public policies aimed at youth in Pará over the last 22 years, there are only 36 policies that mention youth but fail to create legacies aligned with our aspirations. So why, in a state with over 100 billion reais forecast for the coming years in Pará, is there no program, project, or policy specifically designed to meet our real needs?

But we don't give up and we insist: We Want Now! Youth Secretariat of Pará.
